BBM Money in Indonesia Registers 60k in 3 Months

The peer-to-peer payments service provided by Monitise at the Blackberry platform has registered 60,000 users in its launch country to date.

Blackberry launched the service in Indonesia in February with Permata Bank and hopes to get some 200,000 users by the top of the year. With Blackberry the number 1 selling smartphone, making up greater than half the smart handsets, the number seems a bit modest in a rustic of nearly 250m people.

BBM Money gives BlackBerry Messenger customers in Indonesia the power to immediately create, access and make real-time payments to their BBM contacts from their Mobile Money account.
