Creating a user friendly website

A website needs to do two things – Be user friendly whilst also being search engine friendly. If you are not very ofay with how a website works then you should read this brief overview discussing how you can incorporate the two and why it is important.

A website needs to look clean, professional and be easy to use – these are the basics, if you site is overly complex, too messy or simply lacking in information then people will often leave and will not return to it losing you potential sales. You need to make sure that you display all the information you need to in a useful way so that it can be easily understood. You should also include “Calls to action” where you are promoting the visitor to carry out a task such as call you, fill in an enquiry form or purchase a product or service.

When designing a site you not only need to look from the visitor’s point of view but also from a search engine’s view (such as Google or Bing). Each search engine provider has a different algorithm they use to decide how they will rank websites on their results pages. You will need to speak to an online marketing company to ensure that your site encompasses all of these elements if you want people to be able to find you.
