The four foundersA survey by Women in Wireless into female leadership within the industry has found that many girls believe there are still significant barriers to achieving their full potential. Among the findings, 83 per cent of ladies aged 35 to 54 said they think that it can be harder for girls to reach their careers than men. This figure dropped right down to 65 per cent among 18 to 34 year olds. 66 per cent of greater than 600 people surveyed believe that organisational culture is the foremost the reason for this is that women are underrepresented at senior levels. This was followed by an absence of career development opportunities. The survey found that only 1/2 large corporates provide external training to their employees – this figure is barely 31 per cent in SMEs. an identical number don’t help their staff to set career development goals. Not surprisingly for an always-on industry, 44 per cent said they suspect that their work-life balance is poor. CHARGE Anywhere Launches EMV MPOS Solution for BlackBerry
Payment solution provider CHARGE Anywhere has introduced a smartphone EMV payment acceptance solution for BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry Legacy devices, first demonstrated in the course of the BlackBerry Live Conference in Orlando on 15, May. The solution works by converting a BlackBerry phone into an EMV POS terminal using a Bluetooth enabled EMV/Chip and PIN smart card reader. “In integrating a Bluetooth enabled EMV/Chip & PIN smart card reader with a BlackBerry smart phone, CHARGE Anywhere continues to guide the way in which in providing secure, innovative payment solutions,” said Paul Sabella, CEO of CHARGE Anywhere. “Our experience with the BlackBerry platform is clear as we’re the first to deliver an MPOS payment acceptance solution for the BlackBerry 10.”
Oscar Mayer Leverages Mobile to interact Consumers
Kraft Foods lunchmeat and hot dog brand Oscar Mayer has partnered with MONTAJ to bring the favored Grandpa Frank commercials home, literally. MONTAJ is an iPhone app that permits users to create a completely edited video from various clips with an easy shake of the telephone, which may then be shared at the MONTAJ social network. Consumers can now use the MONTAJ mobile program to create, direct and star of their own Oscar Mayer commercial alongside the Grandpa Frank character. Between 16 May and 13 June, users can create their very own commercials by shooting just a few clips, after which choosing and inserting “Frankisms” to be integrated into their storyboard. Once the film is complete, it’s published at the MONTAJ app and the Oscar Mayer YouTube page. Giraffe Launches Loyalty-Focused App
Chain restaurant Giraffe has launched an iOS and Android app, with a focal point on loyalty schemes. The app, developed by Stampfeet, contains a QR code scanner which enables users to gather stamps with each visit, towards two rewards – a free takeaway coffee and 50 per cent off food. More interestingly, it also enables users to gift and swap stamps with their friends via email. The Giraffe app also features reservations functionality, powered by Live Res, location-based capabilities to locate the closest restaurant, in addition to menus, news and provides. “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new app with a transparent do something about rewarding our loyal customers,” said Giraffe co-founder Juliette Joffe. “We’ve tried to maintain it as simple and concise as possible to entice a much broader audience, whether or not they are popping in for a standard coffee or visiting us for a meal.”
